We ended our 2022-2023 season on 9 July with a highly successful performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Consort of Twelve at St Paul’s Church, Chichester, part of the Festival of Chichester. Unusually, we presented the complete version, starting at 5 o’clock and including a long supper interval (the sun obligingly shone for us!). Our soloists – Charlotte Bowden, Charlotte Badham, Tom Robson and Jamie Woollard – were outstanding, and the Consort of Twelve, augmented by trumpets, timpani, oboes and bassoon, played magnificently. The audience had a marvellous evening – and so did the choir. It was ‘the event of the year’ for our reviewer, David Green: read his full review here.

Like many choirs we lost members in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic but this year we have gained several excellent new singers, enabling us to be ambitious for the future. Plans for the 2023-2024 season are still in development but will be announced shortly.
