Our concert programme this year kicks off on Saturday 18 March at 7.30, when we will be performing Baroque music for Lent at the beautiful Church of the Holy Spirit in Southsea. The programme will include music by Bach, Praetorius, Lotti, Charpentier and Caldara, and we will be accompanied by Peter Gould on the organ.
Our main summer concert will be a performance on Sunday 9 July of Handel’s ‘Messiah’. This will be a joint concert with our good friends the Consort of Twelve, at St Paul’s Church, Chichester as part of the Festival of Chichester. We plan to sing the full version of ‘Messiah’, starting at 5 p.m. with a long supper interval.
A week before this, on Sunday 2 July, we will be presenting a concert of anthems for the period from Lent to Trinity Sunday, at 3.30 p.m. at Holy Trinity, Gosport.
