Our performance of Handel’s ‘Israel in Egypt’ with the Consort of Twelve in Chichester on 3 July was a great success – everything came together on the day, with trombones, trumpets and drums making an exciting sound, and some guest singers helping the choir to an outstanding performance. Ed Hastings, deputising for our indisposed tenor soloist at the last minute, did us proud. Click here for a review of the concert:

Israel in Egypt by Portsmouth Baroque Choir and The Consort of Twelve

We are now on our summer break but we have already started work on the music for our next concert, on Saturday 15 October at All Saints, Portsmouth: music by Henry Purcell, John Blow and Pelham Humfrey. Our Christmas concert on 3 December, also at All Saints, will include Schutz: ‘The Christmas Story’. New choir members are welcome: please get in touch if you are interested.
